You can click on each metric to view how it has changed since the video was first uploaded. Clicking on Peak Live Viewers will display this interactive graph showing the number of viewers who watched video over time.

Based on their Facebook profiles, you can also see the demographics of your viewers during your broadcast.

2. You can test live video with the privacy setting "Only me".

You can use live broadcasting to have fun without sharing your content with others. However, you can set the privacy settings so that you are the only person who can see it. This works just like any other post on Facebook.

Look for the privacy settings to switch to Only me. You will then be able see all the options and select Only me from the list.

3. You can also share live videos on Facebook with other posts.

While the art of organic reach on Facebook has evolved over time, you can still benefit from it. This can be achieved by combining regular Facebook posts with Facebook Live videos. Live videos have a greater reach and are more engaging. Spreading them out will increase the organic reach for all your posts.

4. Keep reintroducing yourself.

Take a moment to introduce yourself and the purpose of the video when you start it. Remember that live streaming is not free. You may only have one person watching your video when you start it. You may only have a few viewers even if you start streaming live just a few seconds into the video. People will find your video via their News Feeds and join the conversation. However, you need to introduce yourself again a second, third, or even fourth time to keep them up to date.

5. Visually engage the video.

Visual engagement is essential for broadcasts.Visually engaging people will be more likely to stay with you. This means that you should keep the camera in motion and not just focusing on one spot.

This will allow you to get more viewers and also make your broadcast rank higher in others' News Feeds. Facebook began to monitor signals like audio volume, full-screen mode or high definition, and interpreted that as video users engaging with the video. They've changed the algorithm to make videos that users engage in such ways appear higher on the feed.

6. Be spontaneous.

What makes live video unique? It's the spontaneity and interactive nature. People love being able to interact with others and the thrill of seeing someone live, when anything can happen. It's the new reality television in many ways.

These moments are what makes live video unique. They're what separate it from pre-recorded, edited or scripted videos. Accept the platform. Banter is always, always a good thing.

7. Do not worry about making mistakes or having to stutter.

Even if your Facebook Live goes awry, spontaneity is a powerful tool.We are all humans, let's face the facts. When technology and humans mix, it can sometimes lead to technical problems.

You might have to stop recording live video. Your equipment may malfunction, your thoughts could be lost, or you could be photobombed randomly by someone. If things go wrong, you can't just call it "cut". You have to be flexible and continue filming and talking.

The good news is? These are the things that keep your broadcast real and human. You can laugh at yourself if your phone shakes while you are filming. Make a joke if you lose track of what you are saying. Keep the broadcast fun and conversational.

Ask viewers to comment if they make the same mistakes as you during your Facebook Live.

8. Encourage viewers to share and Like the video.

Facebook's algorithm ranks posts based on how many people like and share them. Your live broadcast will appear in more people's News Feeds if it has more Likes and Shares.

People may be more distracted by watching videos than text or photos, so they might not like it as much as they would with a text. Facebook recognized this early and began to monitor other signals of engagement such as turning up the volume.

9. Engage with commenters and mention their names.

Another way Facebook can give your broadcast a higher relevancy score is by having more comments. This will make it more likely that it shows up in people's News Feeds. Encourage your viewers to comment and respond to their questions by calling them by name. It will not only get more people to leave comments, but it is also a fun way for your viewers to be part of the live experience. This could help them stay longer.

Your audience will love to hear your name and answer questions live.

10. You can have someone else watch and respond to your comments from a computer at work.

It can be difficult to see comments on Facebook Live videos if you are the one taking the picture. It's easy to lose track of comments that are coming in quickly if they disappear under the fold. You may also be busy recording and entertaining viewers.

It's a good idea for an additional person to log in to the primary account to view comments from a desktop computer. They can respond so that the person who is recording the video can focus on creating great experiences.

11. In the comments, please subtitle your broadcast.

Your viewers might be watching your video in the evenings, or simply without sound. It doesn't matter what, subtitling your video in the comments section can be a great way of keeping people interested. People who tune in late can catch up by subtitling the video.

12. Ask viewers to sign up for Facebook Live notifications.

You can also ask for likes, shares, comments and to subscribe to live notifications. To turn on notifications, viewers simply need to click the small downward-facing arrow at the top of the live video and select "Turn on Notifications."

You can ask them to Like your Facebook brand, which will increase the likelihood that they'll be notified about your next live broadcast.

13. Broadcast at least 10 minutes.

Your live video will start showing up slowly, but surely, in people's News Feeds as soon as you start recording it. You can increase the likelihood that people will discover your video and share with their friends by broadcasting for longer periods of time, especially as comments, likes, and shares begin to come in.

We recommend you stay live for no less than 10 minutes. However, you can also go live for as long as you like for any given video.

14. Before you end your video, say goodbye.

Be sure to end your live broadcast with a closing line. For example, "Thanks for viewing" or "I'll soon be going live again."

15. Later, add a link to your description.

After the live broadcast is over, you can edit the description, privacy settings or delete the video as you would with any other post.

A trackable link can be added to the description of the post. This can direct future viewers to your live series page, the site for any campaign you are using the video to promote or another place.

We hope you found this helpful. We will keep you informed about any developments and tips to help you connect with your audience in new ways.
